The lawyer will complete all of the legal forms for you, as well as the correspondence with the court and your husband/wife (or their solicitor). Who is this service suitable for?
To qualify to apply for divorce in England or Wales you must either:
- Currently live in England or Wales ( and be of any nationality), OR
- Live overseas but have a strong link to England or Wales (e.g. born in UK, have UK passport)
It does not matter which country you got married in - you can still divorce here.
You must have been married for 12 months before you can start a divorce.
If you, your spouse or your children are not UK nationals then please call our helpline for further advice.
What is the legal process?
Our partner law firm will manage your whole case from start to finish, including completing all of the necessary legal forms and submitting your case to court. To begin the process simply place an order online or speak to one of our expert advisors on our free telephone helpline.

1) Place Order
Click the "Order Now" button below to place an order on our website. You can pay by debit or credit card, or by cheque. If you have any questions about our service or if you want to order by phone, just call us on freephone: 01202 805020.

2) Questionnaire Sent Out
We will send you (by email or post) a very simple questionnaire to gather basic information such as your name, address, date of marriage and place of marriage.

3) Return Questionnaire
You complete the questionnaire and return it to us. You also send us an original copy of your marriage certificate (we can obtain a new one for you if you have lost it).

4) Submit Divorce Application
We draft and submit a Divorce Application form to the court. At this point you need to pay a £593 court fee (unless you are exempt due to low income). You can choose to submit a joint application or an individual application.

5) Acknowledgement
For individual applications the court will then notify your spouse by sending them a copy of the application. Your spouse will need to sign and return a short form to the court to acknowledge receipt. This step is not required for joint applications.

6) Conditional Order
Due to the new no-fault divorce process, the case is now paused for a 20 week "reflection period". Once this time has elapsed we will apply to the court on your behalf for a Conditional Order. A judge will review the application and provided everything is in order then the divorce will be approved in principal and a Conditional Order will be issued.

7) Final Order
The final step of the divorce process is to apply to the court for a Final Order. However, there is a minimum waiting period of 6 weeks between being granted the Conditional Order, and being able to apply for the Final Order. It is also standard practice not to apply for the Final Order until you have reached agreement on a financial settlement and obtained a legally binding Financial Consent Order (also known as a clean break).
The overall time to complete the above process is around 6 months if there are no unexpected delays.
What is included in the service?
This comprehensive service includes all of the following:

Qualified lawyers will open a case file for you and will manage the whole process from start to finish. They will provide legal advice on matters relating directly to the divorce process (This does not include advise on financial or child arrangements).

We handle all communication to and from the court. We will also correspond with your spouse (and/or their solicitor). We will provide you with regular email updates as the case progresses.

We provide, complete and check all of the forms that the court require. All you need to do is to provide the basic information for your case such as personal and marriage details.
How much does this service cost?
This is a fixed fee service, the following costs are payable:
- Our lawyer's fixed fee for this service is £179 payable when you order.
- You will also need to pay a government court fee of £593, unless you are on benefits, in which case you may be able to claim reduced of free court fees through the government's Help With Fees scheme.
The above costs add up to a total of £772 (including VAT).
How long will this service take?
The new no-fault divorce process introduced in 2022 is a multi-stage application process which includes two mandatory waiting periods. There is a 20 week reflection period between making the initial application and asking the court to grant a Conditional Order. This is followed by an additional 6 week waiting period before you can apply for the Final Order.
As a result the divorce process will take a minimum of 6 months to complete if there are no unnecessary delays.
The most common causes of additional delays are:
- backlogs in the court processing of applications
- your spouse not returning paperwork promptly
- holding off from applying for the Final Order due to ongoing financial negotiations
