Provided that you and your spouse are agreed that you want to divorce, the process is fairly straightforward:

Step 1: Place Order:   Click the button below to place an order, you can pay by debit or credit card, or by cheque.
Step 2: Form Sent Out: We will send out to you by email (or post if you prefer) a simple form to complete.
Step 3: Return Form: You complete the form (with marriage details, address for spouse etc) and return it to us. You also send us an original copy of your marriage certifictate (we can obtain a new one for you if you have lost it). If paying by cheque don't forget to include it with the form.
Step 4:
Submit Petition: We draft and submit the required documents - including a Petition document to the court.
At this point you need to pay a £300 court fee (unless you are exempt due to low income).
Step 5:
Acknowledgement: The court will serve the Petition on your spouse and they will need to return an Acknowledgement to the court. The process can get delayed at this point if your spouse delays or fails to return the Acknowledgement.
Step 6:
Decree Nisi: Once the acknowledgement is received we will apply for the Decree Nisi on your behalf. The court will consider the application (this can take a month or more) and if everything is in order will issue the Decree Nisi and send a certificate to both parties.
 Step 7:
Decree Absolute: The Decree Absolute is the final certificate that legally ends the marriage. We can apply for this on your behalf 6 weeks after the Decree Nisi. A £40 court fee is payable for the Absolute.
