The Women's Support Project is a voluntary organisation, which works against violence against women and children. We work on a broad range of issues including domestic violence, rape and sexual assault, child sexual abuse and incest. Key themes in our work have been:

1:highlighting links between different forms of male violence
2: promoting an interagency response to the abuse of women and children.

The approach of establishing specialised services in response to women's needs has continued in the Women's Support Project and we have been heavily involved in the establishment of two further Projects, Wise Women; a project which focuses on increasing women's confidence, and Routes Out of Prostitution; a project which supports women who are attempting to leave prostitution.

Part funded by Glasgow City Council the project has a staffing group of four and an active Management Committee of five. The Project has always encouraged services and organisations to recognise and listen to the needs of women and children who have experienced abuse.
