What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

To be honest my other half took me for a ride, and then she took me to court for ancillary relief and costs and this was after me giving her about 75% of everything

I managed to get her to agree to a Consent Order due to the fact that she didnt comply with the seperation agreement and I would have probably been awarded a few k

I didnt see that point in bothering with that so had hoped that it would have been completed by now

Now she has to pay her fees and the court costs, so I hope a fair few k

At least you sound like you are sorted
