Sorry to hear about this.

Its almost identical to me. Ex is also Police Officer who left me for colleague then was verbally horrific to me and blamed me. As others have said its the guilt - my ex is a classic case of 'attack is the best form of defence' which he takes to the nth degree.

Verbal onslaughts are so hurtful and wearing. Its so easier said than done to 'just ignore', the more they say the more it gets to you.

I am winning the battle of not retaliating (it took me months as was indignant at his neck and hypocrisy) - which incidentally makes him more angry! Tough.

Good advice you have got here is not to react (hard) and come on here and rant and moan (easy)
