Dukey,
He-he! Just had this mental image of divorcing spouses turning up in court wearing their old wedding outfits!! :-)
After yr last court visit, are you gonna burn your suit on a funeral pyre and then send it off to sea? Sounds like a party!

I also took the scissors to mine ... turned it into a 'princess' dress for my youngest daughter for a party when I was too poor to buy stuff to make one with for a fancy dress party...

I donated mine to the Big C charity shop in Norwich. They have a whole floor dedicated to Bridal Wear.

Mine was second hand when I bought it, who knows, maybe it will be 3rd time lucky for the dress.

I did put it on one last time to show my children, although couldn't get it done up. I was even 8 months pregnant when I got married, so being unhappily married certainly piled on the pounds for me.

I didn't feel anything putting it on, so had no problem handing it to the woman in the charity shop.

At least a little good may have come from my dress.

i had a low-key register office wedding and bought a nice frock with sweetheart neckline and ruched sleeves for £40 in Jane Norman, Oxford Street.

It was pretty with floral pattern in blue and red on cream background and lovely little buttons. I wore it to several other weddings.

Then, once I'd had children and knew I would never be size 10 again (!) I gave it to a charity shop.

I suppose because it was a low-key do, with just immediate family, I don't have any hangups about "the dress". I'm keeping my wedding ring too, I chose it and I like it.
