What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Coming to the end of my divorce. Decree Nisi already been given. Straight forward in that we had no kids, she did not contest unreasonable behaviour (2 affairs and 2 terminations I knew of).
However can not settle money. Now at the stage where form E has been submitted and I have a deadline of Friday 11th to submit form G. And the FDR date is the 25th September. I have not had a date for a first meeting.
what I am unclear on is what do I or should I submit with Form G?

I have asked for a few thousand from her to settle debts etc.. ut been denied So I will ask court for an even split on equity on 2 properties and 1 debt. So what form do I submit to tell the court what I want?

She submitted bank statements to show her earnings which was really different to what she actually wrote in form E. Should I tell the courts this and should I ask for more disclosure? Or am I likely to get the chance to explain this in court.

Any advice welcome, tried lawyers but costly and bad bad experience now I am going it alone, but I suddenly feel very alone!
:S

Hi I've jusy joined this site and found your comments on the Form G and chronology very helpful. I'm representing myself in my case and have managed to complete my form e without too much difficulty. However I'm struggling to find much info on how to complete the other documents needed, especially the chronology and statement of issues. Any help or advice you could off would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Statement of issues,

Court header, which is the way your stbx sets out his if represented, if not

(on the left) IN THE X COUNTY COURT
(on the right) CASE NUMBER
(on the left)) BETWEEN
(in the middle) Mr XXX XXX (then on the right Applicant)
(in the middle) AND
(in the middle) MRS XXX XXX (then on the right Respondent)

THEN A SPACE

Then in caps and bold

STATEMENT OF ISSUES OF THE APPLICANT (or RESPONDENT)

then you do numbered paragraphs with your issues, one paragrah for each issue.

Hi Sarah,

I saw your response to the question downloading form G and wondered if you could forward me your chronology too.

My wife is divorcing me and I cannot afford legal costs so have to research everything myself. So far it is not that bad but I have a first appointment coming up and need to file a chronology and form G. I have no idea on what to put down in the chronology or the questionnaire that I have to submit.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
