I would like to float with you a possible venue for a wikimeet, namely The Anne of Cleves in Melton Mowbray. Leicestershire It is a building dating back to 1327 and from a wiki point of view its main interest is that it was gifted to Anne of Cleves by Henry VIII as part of her divorce settlement. She did better than some of the others ; they allowed her to keep her head !

So the idea of this building playing host to a meeting of divorce advisers seems - well, shall we say, appropriate ?

Melton Mowbray in the Vale of Belvoir is of course best known for pork pies and Stilton cheese and calls itself '' Regional Capital of Food ''. The town is easily accessed from cities like Leicester, Nottingham, Peterborough, Derby and is an hour from Birmingham by rail. The pub is close to the rail station. Car parking is ample.
Oh and by the way, it''s reputed to be haunted - - - ( by a lady with her head tucked underneath her arm ? ). The place just reeks history and oozes character. Thomas Cromwell, former Lord Chancellor of England, lived in this building before they chopped his head off.

I checked this out with my former housekeeper and all I can say is that if I was going to get beheaded, I could have done a lot worse for a last meal. Both housekeeper and I recommend it.

The pub have now confirmed they would be happy to host a meet there. Before I post this under EVENTS can I have some feedback :

Any ideas for dates ?
So if you’d like a pork pie, cheese and a fright – this is for you.

It''s a bit of a trudge for me...

But, if circumstances permit, I''ll give it a try!
