My wife wants a "Legal Separation" and I don't.
I feel that when I decline separation she will then file for divorce.
From what I have read, nothing can stop this.

If she successfully divorces me, this will leave nothing for me to live for.

Bollocks to it all.

Soupy,

Been there, got the t-shirt. Know exactly how you are feeling - Heads you lose, tails, you, well, errr... Lose.

Read my blog from the beginning. You will see a lot of similarities in how you are feeling and thinking.

It is horrible to feel helpless and hopeless and gutted that everything that you worked and lived for seems to be going down the toilet.

Right now, it seems that the world is caving in. It is for you. But there will gradually come a point where you stop looking backwards and begin to look forwards. You are probably thinking 'What the xyz does he know?'. I know I am not there yet. I know that I still have a way to go. But I know I have moved on from that VERY dark despair I felt when realisation began to hit home that my marriage was over. My marriage, but not my life.

You have to go through this period soupy. It stinks. But you will come out of the other side.

Mike

Thanks for the replies but I really see nothing left.

Perhaps I can't move on because I gave up socialising to devote my time to good fathering and homemaking.

I have no REAL friends outside my family and in all honesty have no desire go out and find new ones.

If my marriage ends and I have to part from my family I will give up.

Soupy,

You will get through this.

In the meantime, please, please, please get some help as soon as possible.

If you are on private aid or on the NHS, please go and see your doctor, and ASK hime to medicate you. Find out about ciprolex or fluoxotine. Also ask him to set you up with a visit to the psychologist so that you are able to speak with someone who can give you an objective point of view.

Having no real friends or no-one to speak to is extremely difficult. I am a foreigner and had exactly the same situation.

Please make this appointment now and let me know when you have made it!!!! I will hound you from now on until i know that you've done it.

Depression is normal, losing your desire to live is not. I have read a few of your posts, and you seem to be going over the threshhold.

You need to mourn, but you also need to be strong for yourself.

Soupdragon,

I, and i think i speak for all of us, know exactly what you are going through, thats why we all use wiki.

we are all feeling desperate and lost but we have to get through the pain and sorrow and come out of the other side.

i find that 'the not knowing where it will all end' terrifying and i have good hours and bad hours throughout the day.

Like most of us, i'm sure that you are not able to sleep properly because of the worry, pain and uncertainty.

like you i have lost touch with a lot of my old friends and relatives and i pretty much kept myself to myself and devoted myself to my family over the last 14 years.

Since the break up, I have had to force myself out and have been amazed to find that old friends have been there for me and i have met some good new friends as well!

it is important that you have some people around you that you can talk too and confide in. talking about how you feel with someone is an enormous help.

you dont mention where you are from, if you are anywhere close to Manchester come along to the 'Manchester Meet' on Saturday evening and meet some people all going through the same heartache? (this will be my first time and i am feeling a little aprehensive as i am quite shy).

If you cant make it, dont worry just keep communicating!
remember you are not alone.

Take care

Stimo

Once again thanks for your concern!

It is blazingly obvious you people have far stronger emotionally than I.

And well done for seeing some hope for the future.

I just whent to the doctors and have been prescribed anti-depressant tablets.

Life doesn't get any better than this.
