Lavendar oil in the bath prior to bedtime, burn a little levendar oil in an oil burner in the bedroom prior to going to bed, a touch of lavendar oil on a tissue by your pillow...

Lavendar worked for me!

Acupuncture works for me and if you can't stand needles you can have acupressure.

Traditional Chinese medicine says the waking between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. is a sign of grieving and stress. My acupuncturist has pushed my waking time nearer to 6 a.m.

I also use the P McKenna sleep CD.It works for me every time. No comment about why it's so sleep inducing, but it works for me.

Lack of sleep makes everything seems worse. Hope you get it sorted soon.

I would recommend getting lavender pillow, from body shop. They are about £10 but they do work. You put the pillow over your eyes and it helps you to relax.I also read before I go to sleep and if you wake up try to get up rather than let your thoughts go round and round.

HI there

I agree with all of the above - I put a couple of drops of lavander oil on my bed too.

Chamomile tea is good, and I like Bach flower remedies.

Tho I think it is a stage we all go through - and I still do from time to time. I used to get to sleep, then wake about 4 and then struggle to get back to sleep. I could not stop the thoughts chattering through my head. Nor the fears or sadness that I managed to cope with during the day.

Over the counter nytol is not bad. But i did use relaxation CD's. They stilled my noisy thoughts and helped me relax.
I would highly recommend. You can download some from eye tunes - or I got mine from an health shop.

hope these suggestions help. It is awful when you feel so bad and sleep deprivation does not help at all.

sorry just realise I spelt it "eye" tunes:blush:

maybe it could be called "shut eye" tunes - that would be more useful;)
