I don't know about it being easier for a woman to quit, I'm on week 6 of Champix and could still kill for a ciggie. Determined though....filthy habit won't get the better of me

Good for you!!!

I gave up for 4 months a few years ago but started again because of a family tragedy.

I think the key is to keep patting yourself on the back everyday whilst you stop. Also, after a while it tries to trick you when you thought it was all over. It has a sneaky way of popping it's head up at the most unusual times or events.

My Grandad used to smoke 80 cigarrettes a day until he lost one of his lungs. Now he only smokes 40 a day...

I have not had a cigarette since Saturday , last night I dreamt that I was smoking!!!Weird...
Tomorow should be a big test as it should have been my wedding anniversary...Luckily I am spending 4 days at friends who have organized many events so that I "enjoy" myself . I hope I don't reach for one when I feel low remembering the happiest day of my life. Roxie

Be strong Roxie...I tend to think about how much fresher my clothes and house are when I fancy a cigarette and that put's me off. Could be my imagination but even my skin is looking more youthful now after quitting and my bank balance is certainly a lot more healthy:laugh:

I am now a non-smoker :laugh:and quite enjoying not stinking like an old ashtray...

Best thing was seeing my childrens' and partner's face(s) when I told them I had quit :)

Anyone else stopped recently, or planning to stop soon?
