What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I don't think Chris is envious of the fat coacher being with his ex wife & stepkids!!!!

Its the abuse & shocking behaviour towards him
that he has got to get over.

..agreed! But we can only be victimised whilst we allow the abuser to have any effect. If you called 'check-mate' on your opponant, they'd have no one else to blame.

Game over!

What I meant was another partner will not fayre better.

Yep. Sad fact of life. My first marriage ended ten years ago.
My ex walked away with new internet lovely girlfriend, who now lives off my assets!

She didn't bring any of her own over from the USA, and just parked up in my life, with my husband, and profits from the hard work I did with him for 16 yrs!

It took me ages to recover, and trust again, and finally I married again, only to be shafted again, by the 'nicest bloke in the whole world' (according to his friends!)

Sera. What do you mean by this? In my case I had to walk on egg shells. I needed her signiture on my mortgage so I had to tread carefully. I lived on tenterhooks after I was frogmarched down to sign the seperation and fictitious loan agreement. She would not sign off on my mortgage until I did. Once it was signed though she would threten to pull out of the deal and I would have been sunk. Chris.

I have a way to go but I have come a long long way. My life is happy now. I just have this sh*t to go thru. When thats done so will I. Chris.
