What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Final court hearing is in less than 2 weeks. I want to submit a revision to my statement ( I am a witness) from last year. Can I do this or is it too late and does it have to be as an addendum? We are self representing

Yes you can submit new information.

Any revision to clarify previous statements can be done as an addendum.

If there is new evidence then this can be done as a new statement.

If you are revising the previous statement due to factual errors and inconsistencies in the previous statement then this is perhaps more problematic. I would suggest a new statement but of course the other side will jump all over it.

Will need submitting to Court and other side asap.
