What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

My STBX keeps employing delaying tactics.

1 After 5 years separation STBX filed for Decree Nisi. Then didn''t apply for it until I said I would have case dismissed as not preceded with and start own action.

2. After Nisi granted, STBX did not apply for Absolute. I had to wait further period to apply myself. 2 days before STBX filed for financial orders. I was advised to postpone applying for absolute.

3 I filed form E and all docs on time. STBX filed Form E week late.

4 STBX has filed form G saying not ready for First Appointment simultaneously with sending me statement of 5 issues AND 31 other spurious questions on separate piece of paper. This means more delay for no good reason as all spurious questions are extraneous to info on Form E on which all matters fully disclosed.

How can I get process on better track and keep to a tighter timetable and circumvent STBX tactics which are petty and not material to sorting out matters? :(

Thank you; all comments valued!
