What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Could I ask for some help please, I petitioned for divorce May last year was served etc and I then sent the Nisi but this has been returned as he would not provide his address for the Petition do I put our home address as his post was being redirected. I now have his current address, is it acceptable to amend and resend ? Is there a cost to this, I assume there is ? I go to court mid May for final hearing but think I need at least the Nisi before finances can be agreed ? thank you

Actually if the judge knew there was no Nisi court proceedings would be halted, you need a nisi for AR.

Yes amend it, the cost is £95, unless it''s gone up again, write amended application on the front in red, cross out the wrong address and add his again in red, and hope it goes through double quick.
