What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hello there......any help appreciated.

I am representing myself in a financial settlement case. My ex''s solicitor has asked over 30 questions which are generally about relatively small payments I have made from my bank account over the last 12 months. It seems like nitpicking and all these payments were made after the divorce went through 9 months ago. (for clothes and small items) Is spending after the divorce usually that relevant? Over 20 years of marriage I am also being asked to provide a CV even though I was the main earner over the marriage......seems ridictilous???

Thank you in anticipation :)

They can ask any questions they like. The judge will decide at the FDA which are to be answered but if there is no harm in answering them it shouldn''t be a problem.

If you have consistently held down a job I can''t see why a CV would be necessary.
