What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

She''s applied for another court order to include uni which ive agreed to but at a cheaper rate. I think she''ll be expecting to stay at full rate until September but court order says until she finished college. Think I''ll pay the new rate from now and wait for the abuse

If it''s a court order you follow that if it''s a private agreement you won''t have to continue into uni education.
If it''s in line with CSA their payments follow child benefit and would end on 31st August.
Are you going to be paying the child direct once they''re at uni ? Some people do that rather than give it to the parent with care - but that might cause more aggro?

Hi. It''s the original Consent Order from the divorce. It states I pay until ceasing full time secondary education . It does mention section 4 (10) of child support act which I''ve looked at and cant see anything related to September.
