What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi there,
I thought I would chase my solicitor again two weeks ago after waiting 7 months for the pension sharing order to go through , we have been to court in January if this year..stbx was given 56 days to adhere to the court order I have had the money from the house but not the pension. I have spoken to my solicitor again today to be told that he hasn''t paid for his side of the pension sharing...... why has it been left for so long ... never mind makes me mad ... anyway my question is do I have to take him back to court ??? My solicitor asked if I wanted to pay his half to get things moving ...I''m guessing he doesn''t want to play this game seeing as I have 25% share in his police pension... Please help after nearly 4 years I have had a gut full and want rid of this parasite.

How much would it be to pay his half?

Would it be quicker, and cheaper, to pay his half and then seek recovery of it afterwards?

Someone more expert will probably be able to confirm but it might be possible to pay the £300 yourself and get the ball rolling then send your ex an invoice.

If he doesn''t pay up within a set time frame use the small claims track at your local court.
