What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I received notification that the hearing set for July has been brought forward following "reading an email from the respondent father".

Basically, our son refuses to see his father and his father is trying to get contact. He is being investigated by the police for sexual exploitation and child abuse.

He is reluctant to have the skype calls (court order for this).

His father how now emailed the court, and they have brought the hearing forward.

Is there a way to see this email?

The s7 report is due the same day as the new hearing date. I am worried that the judge will not have had a chance to see the report and see our son''s wishes before the hearing which is set for 10am of the day the report is due.

Any help greatly appreciated
