What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Thanks again for the reply's. I have no fear that my wife would be violent towards my daughter. She was just upset this morning due to my wife shouting last night and seeing the bruises on my face. She is fine now. I will get in otouch with the organisations concerned and can always bolt to my family (quite a long drive - 270 miles away) but at least it is a nice safe place. I have written my wife an email just encouraging her to go to the doctor and take the medication he prescibes. She is out of the house now and has been for hours so I think she realises that what she did was wrong.

Dockley - thank for the PM - I hear what you are saying.

Just a quick update - rang the police, they were very helpfull. Took the details and are arranging a call back and an officer to speak to me tomorrow. They have said that if I wanted they can speak to my wife and explain that it is unacceptable for her to abuse me like that. I think that should suffice and she will certainly think twice again.
