What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi....

I wonder if anyone can help me....

What grounds would one need to obtain a restraining/non molestation order?
The reason I am asking is because my x2b has been at our home while I was out....
He didn't gain access as I have had the locks changed, but I am concerned that he may return, probably checking to see that I am out first, then perhaps get a locksmith to let him in.... then who knows what he may do.
If one had sufficient reason to obtain one of these orders, how long does it take?... and if he did return what would I do?

Many thanks for any advice

Sorry, been ' off the air ' for a few days having got a nasty virus ( Computer virus that is ! )

A non molestation order can be made on the grounds of violence or threats of violence, but also annoying behaviour such as absuive E Mails or text messages. An order can last for a fixed period or it can remain in force till the Court cancels it.

It can be obtained very quickly in cases of emergency ; contact your solicitor.
