Heard this on the radio tonight - it''s 30 years old! Haven''t listened to Billy Bragg in ages - reminds me of a friend who died last year .......... I think it is a great song and I remember dancing round in a bit of a drunken state with my friend singing it at the top of our voices!

"I saw two shooting stars last night, I wished on them, but they''re only satellites. Its wrong to wish on space hardware, I wish, I wish, I wish you''d care"

Thinking of you JD x

Ha, now that''s a coincidence. The last year or so I''ve bumped into Billy Bragg on a few occasions and last night I saw him at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in Glasgow.

However the song I can''t get out of my head today is the tune The Seagull performed by the New Rope String Band on tubes. At one point one of them looks more like a penguin than a seagull. Hilarious!

Blue... that just makes me cry everytime I hear it.

I remember when I first been delivered the news about ex hubby affair and I was driving home from town - that song came on the radio and I just sobbed and sobbed :-(

I was in Butlins with my daughter a couple of years ago and Ray Lewis from the drifters sung this song, my daughter was 8 at the time and we got up and danced,
Ray came down from the stage, shook my hand and lifted my daughter up and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
this song holds strong memories for us and mirrors the bond we have. :)

What a wonderful image that conjures up Tom.
You''ll remember that for ever. I remember dancing on my Dad''s feet, if you know what I mean.

We may forget them sometimes but then a post like yours brings the memories flooding back as bright as ever.

That''s lovely tom333 - made me shudder and reminded me of the song I chose to dance with my son on his wedding day last summer:
