Hi all,

I have recently lost my job and therefore I have submitted Form A to request a variation downwards of child maintenance.

The hearing is scheduled for 12th August and I have already booked my return flights (I live in Dubai) and accommodation. My ex-wife now claims she cannot attend as she has suddenly booked a UK based vacation.

Given my unemployment status, this hearing must proceed. I have already spent funds to ensure I am present and I cannot afford to return for a rescheduled hearing. Ex-wife's solicitor advised that they will make a formal application to the court for an adjournment and also seek a cost order against me.

How can I formally address this with the court from Dubai, to ensure the hearing does indeed proceed? Is there a specific form I can complete to counter their adjournment application?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Nicolas

Hi all,

Could someone kindly provide me with guidance? I just received a D11 form from ex wife's solicitor.

I need to deny the request for an adjournment. How do I go about doing this formally?

Regards,
Nicolas
